Past, present, and future

Happy π (pi) day from those of us at Angle Labs! For those of you rusty on your math, π is an angle of 180 degrees.

In the world of a startup, half a year can be like an eternity. It’s been over half a year since our last blog post and we’ve been busy, so we’d like to give you an update on some of what we’ve been doing and some of what we’re planning for the future.

Alarm Clock Xtreme for Android remains our flagship product. We have worked hard to make the app as reliable and customizable as possible, in addition to improving the look and feel as well as the ease of use. In November, Alarm Clock Xtreme was featured on Lifehacker as the #1 alarm clock app for Android. In January, the app was featured as a staff pick in the Android Market, and more recently, the NY Times mentioned Alarm Clock Xtreme as one of the best alarm clock apps for Android. The app has now been downloaded over 6 million times and has nearly 3 million active installs. The app remains the highest rated and most downloaded alarm clock app for Android, all thanks to you, our users.

But we are not done yet! We are fine tuning the features in Alarm Clock Xtreme based on your suggestions, and we’ve started work on iPhone version of the app. Additionally we’re working on a suite of other apps for Android we hope you’ll enjoy. Volume Manager Free and Pro are already in the market for Android. These apps give users access to each of Android’s volume streams individually, and allow you to silence your phone for a meeting without having to remember to turn the volume back up afterward. The Pro version of the app also allows you to set a schedule to have your volume profiles applied automatically at the set times, making your smartphone even smarter.

It’s been a while since our last update for Alarm Clock Xtreme, but we have been hard at work ensuring that we continue to provide a quality alarm clock experience. We are currently finishing our new automated test suite, allowing us to run automated tests on ten Android devices at once. We will have an update for Alarm Clock Xtreme soon, and keep an eye out for a video of our automated test suite in action as well.

Our commitment to providing the best apps possible does not stop with our apps, however. Over the past two months, we have streamlined our customer support using Zendesk, allowing us to provide better and more efficient support for our apps. We have also set up and published forums through Zendesk in order to give us an additional avenue of getting feedback and providing a way for users to help each other.

Check out our apps, and let us know how we’re doing. We really appreciate your feedback and suggestions! Alarm Clock Xtreme, and Angle Labs, wouldn’t be here without you!  Once we reach 1000 likes on our Facebook page and 1000 followers on Twitter, we will randomly choose one of our followers from each to receive a free Angle Labs t-shirt. If this happens before March 31, we’ll also send two extra people an Angle Labs sticker!  We hope you continue to enjoy the most Xtreme apps for Android!
